Trade Defense: EAEU Launches Anti-Dumping Probe into Tire Imports from Thailand, Vietnam, and China

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has officially initiated an anti-dumping investigation into truck tire imports from Thailand, Vietnam, and China. This move follows a formal petition from major domestic producers, including Ikon Tyres, Cordiant, and Belshina, who report severe market pressure from low-cost Asian competitors. Calculated dumping margins are reported at 24.17% for Thailand, 19.59% for Vietnam, and 29.64% for China. Earlier, Andrey Pantyukhov, CEO of Ikon Tyres, identified "Chinese expansion" as the most critical threat to the Russian tire industry, calling for immediate government intervention to protect local manufacturing. The investigation could lead to significant import duties, reshaping the competitive landscape of the EAEU automotive market by mid-2026.
